Inspired by Diabetes

Inspired_by_diabetes_logo_2 Inspired by Diabetes is a global campaign asking people with diabetes, as well as their family, friends and healthcare professionals, to express how diabetes has impacted their lives ” and share those stories with others around the world. The initiative, a collaboration between Eli Lilly and Company and the International Diabetes Federation, builds on the goals established by IDF's Unite for Diabetes campaign, which resulted in the passage of the United Nations Resolution on diabetes in December 2006. Inspired by Diabetes aims to bring diabetes to public attention, inspire action to improve diabetes care, and unite individuals, families and communities affected by diabetes around the world.

At the heart of Inspired by Diabetes is the Creative Expression Competition, which invites people with diabetes, their families and friends, and health professionals to express and share their daily experiences of living with diabetes through art, essay, poetry, photography and music. Contributions to the competition  will directly support the IDF Life for a Child Program, which provides diabetes care for children with diabetes in developing countries. Thank you for providing a way for us to express how diabetes had influenced our lives. This disease is a difficult one to live with, but good things can be made out of it, when you begin to look at it in a more positive aspect. Great Job.
